Dempsey scored his 23rd goal of the season (in all competitions) on Sunday. It was the 50th he's scored in the Premier League since joining Fulham from the New England Revolution in 2007. His goal haul puts him in elite company and naturally draws the attention of elite clubs.

Premier League big guns Liverpool FC and Arsenal are among the clubs considering bidding for the Fulham and U.S. national team star, according the Mirror.

Fulham has offered him a three-year deal, but Dempsey has not signed it. The 29-year-old is taking a wait-and-see approach, as a number of clubs are reportedly interested in him during the summer transfer window.

"Arsenal will battle Liverpool in the race to sign Fulham forward Clint Dempsey, according to reports," the Mirror says.

"We never talk publicly about our transfer targets," Werner said. "However, any team would be lucky to have Clint Dempsey playing on their squad."

Reports of Liverpool's interest stem from comments LFC chairman Tom Werner made to Goal.com last week. When asked about Dempsey's success he responded with high praise.

"The 29-year-old is about to enter the final year of his contract and has stalled on signing a new three-year extension to remain at Craven Cottage."
